Connected but Alone

why i left facebook

So, it’s been over a month since I sort of unplugged from the matrix of Facebook.  I had to reactivate my account because family & friends missed seeing pics of Sofia, and I couldn’t find a workaround.  I have to admit, I’ve tapped in a few times, but I still haven’t added the app back to my phone.  And my activity on there is nothing like it used to be. I don’t use Facebook as an escape or as my main social connection.

Most of the times, despite lots of online interaction and exchanges on Facebook, I somehow feel more alone. It’s kind of like eating donuts–satisfying in the moment but then I feel gross afterward.   This video was a great explanation to part of my problem with Facebook.  (Isn’t it ironic that this video got 72,000 Facebook likes?)
